The Efillink CIS works, it will save you thousands $$$.
Each 8 oz ( 225 ml ) ink set will replace 15 - 20 sets of cartridges.
Each original cartridge gives you about 12 - 13 ml usable ink.
At least 1 ml of that is thrown away with an "empty" cartridge. In addition, a good amount of ink is used to charge the print head when a new cartridge is installed. Since all the cartridges will not be replaced at the same time, each time a cartridge is replaced, a good amount of ink is pumped out from all the cartridges. If all 8 cartridges are replaced at different times, the auto charging of the print head will pump out ink from all the cartridges each time a cartridge is replaced.
When using the CIS or refillable cartridges, use the chip resetter to reset the entire set of chips. Or, swap out the entire set of refillable cartridges when one cartridge goes empty. Start with a full set, chips set to full. This will minimize ink waste from exchanging one cartridge at a time.

Pigment based ink is best on matte paper or luster paper for longevity. Dye based ink is best for high gloss photo paper. We only use pigment based ink for R2880, R1900, R2400, R1800, R800, 2200, 2100, Workforce 1100 and pigment based printers. Pigment based ink is available for all wide format Epson models.
The Efillink Heat Transfer Pigment Ink is formulated to minimize color change when heat is applied to the transfer paper. Pigment ink is fade resistant and will not run when washed.
Dye based ink will run when washed and fade when exposed to direct sunlight. Dye based ink is not suitable for t-shirt transfer.

If you have tried other CIS before, you probably have to clean the print head on a regular basis. The CIS you get probably looked like the one shown in the photo below.
Regardless of what CIS you use, the CIS external tank should never be placed above the print head. The CIS is too low if the tank is placed on the desk next to the printer. The tank should be elevated slightly. As to how high the CIS should be. it depends on the design of the CIS. If the tank is placed too low, ink will drain from the cartridges back to the tank. At the same time,air will be drawn into the print head over time. In most cases, if you do not print a day or two, you have to run the head clean to get rid of the air in the print head. This is the most common issue with the use of CIS.
